Today, 8/9, a few of us met at Argos in Cramlington to handover £1000 of toys and gifts to Nicole Robson & her Dad Trevor, from Jessica's Sarcoma Awareness. Jessica is Nicole's sister who died earlier this year after starting to raise money to raise awareness of this cancer. The gifts will be given to children with cancer in the RVI at Christmas. Due to 2 for 1 offers at Argos to £1000 was boosted to £1160. see classics in corbridge 2014 donations page photos
Pam Davison & Shaun, did the Great North Run in 2 hours 9 minutes and were one of the first (if not the first) pushed wheelchairs to finish Shaun said he could have gone a lot quicker, but spent lots of time overtaking and avoiding slower runners who had started in front of them. They had 99.9% encouragement from other runners, encouraging them to go for it, BUT as always, one person complained telling them off for overtaking him, shouting abuse at them, saying it is a "fun run", not a ******* race!!
Todays Heritage Run was a great success, the weather was perfect and allowed views for miles along the route. Many thanks to Mike Mitchell and Peter & Pam Hyde for all their work on making it such a good day.
The winners were: Furthest Travelled - Malcolm Hall from Southend Best Club Attendance - Ilkley & District Motor Club Best MG Northumbria Car - Keith Jacques MG TD Best Car - Jim Butcher from Doncaster MGB Also thanks to MG Newcastle for supporting the run and to Woodhorn Museum for hosting it.

Many thanks to all the exhibitors, traders and visitors who despite
competition from tennis, cycling and the grand prix, not to mention the weather
forecast, made it such a good day. Once we have sorted the bills we will
announce how much has been made for charity and then decide who will benefit
this year. And of course there would be no show if it wasnt for club members and their
friends and families who helped before and on the day.
